Additive Manufacturing

You think it. We make it. Additive manufacturing is the process of creating an object by adding material layer-by-layer—turning an idea into a physical part from nothing.

At Skippy Designs, we offer 3D printing for functional parts, prototypes, custom mounts/brackets, tooling, and creative one-off pieces. We currently print PLA on our Ender 3 Pro, and we also have a Monoprice printer in our lineup to support additional print needs.

What We Can Make

  • Prototype parts (test fit / test function)
  • Custom brackets, mounts, spacers, clips
  • Small enclosures and organizers
  • Custom signs / decorative pieces (depending on shape/detail)
  • Replacement parts (when a design exists or can be recreated)

Materials We Currently Offer

  • PLA (great for prototypes, indoor use, rigid parts)

(If you want to add more later: PETG/TPU/ABS as an “available by request” option.)

What We Need From You

To quote and print your part, we’ll ask for:

  • A .STL / .3MF file (preferred), or a link to the model
  • If you don’t have a model: a sketch with measurements (or photos + measurements)
  • Desired size, color preference (if available), and quantity
  • What the part is used for (strength vs looks vs fit matters)

Typical Turnaround

Most prints are 1–5 business days depending on size, complexity, and current workload.

Pricing (Guideline)

3D printing is usually priced by material + print time + setup:

  • Setup fee: $5–$15 (per job)
  • Printing: $0.15–$0.35 per gram or $3–$10 per hour of print time (whichever fits the job)
  • Design / modeling help (if needed): $40–$75/hour

Example idea: A small functional part might land in the $15–$45 range; larger parts or multi-part prints may be $50–$200+.

Notes / Limitations

  • PLA is best for indoor use and moderate heat environments.
  • Very high-detail miniatures or ultra-smooth cosmetic finishes may require extra post-processing.
